Tinley Park plans to ban video gaming

The village board on Tuesday tentatively approved the measure, which aims to reinforce the village’s longtime prohibition of gambling. Tinley Park got some pushback on a proposed ordinance that would place a definitive ban on video gaming devices in town. But Illinois lawmakers passed the Video Gaming Act in 2009, which opened the door for betting on video terminals in liquor-licensed establishments such as bars, taverns, billiards halls and fraternal organizations throughout the state.
